Who is John Bley? On Saturday 20th September 2008 there was a display of artefacts associated with East Leake’s greatest benefactor and the opportunity to see his tomb and the window dedicated to his memory in St Mary’s Church and churchyard.
Talks by Tony Grundy, Chair of the East Leake and District History Society, were given on John Bley and his life, as work on the conservation and replacement of the railings around the tomb took place.
Work on the conserving the tomb is completed and waiting for the railings to be installed.

The tomb now has its railings back after 'donating' them to the World War II effort.
