BROWNIES

We’ve had a full unit for the whole of the year and have taken part in many exciting activities.

Meeting activities have included:

*Crafts
*Cooking
*Brass cleaning in St. Mary’s Church

*One Brownies’ Mum spent 4 weeks helping us work towards our Disability Awareness Badge. It certainly made us think about our attitude to disability.
*Cookie bake for the Tsunami Appeal
*International Activities including Chinese New Year and Diwali
*Spent several weeks working towards Discovery Faith Badge
*Making Dragon costumes for East Leake Carnival when our walking float ‘Pete’s Dragon’ won 1st prize
*Making pasta decorations for the Christmas Tree Festival at Rempstone Church – again our hard work paid off with another first place!

Other Activities:

*Trip to Nottinghamshire Guide and Scout Gangshow at the Theatre Royal
*ELAPS Pantomime
*Church Parade,
*Remembrance Parade,
*Carol Service
*Summer barbecue with the other East Leake Brownie Packs
*Christmas party at Manor Farm

*Pack Holiday
This was in September to Elton. The theme was The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. 16 Brownies, 1 young leader, 4 adult leaders and Brown Owl’s son had a fantastic time. The highlight was probably Christmas Dinner with all the trimmings and the presents from Santa!

If you would like to know more, come along to one of our meetings held every week, term-time on Mondays 6.30 pm in St. Mary’s Hall.
