East Leake

GUIDES
1st East Leake (St Mary’s) Guides is a thriving Unit with 17 Guides.

In April two of the Guides, Laura and Abigale, performed in the Scout and Guide Gang Show at the Theatre Royal in Nottingham. On the Thursday night, the unit went along to watch and support them in this excellent production.

Over the summer several of the girls joined together with 2nd East Leake Guides for a Guide Camp at Beaudesert campsite in Staffordshire. Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t kind to us this year and we were literally washed out of our tents by the rain and had to spend most of the camp sleeping in huts.

Much of the winter term has been taken up with the Guides working towards their First Aid interest badge with a First Aid Course run by Graeme Hillary the father of one of our Guides.

Other activities have included the usual
*‘Go For It’ challenges
*Crafts
*Walk to West Leake
*Bowling trip.

Forthcoming events include:
*Bingo night
*Divisional Barn Dance
*Easter Bonnet Parade
*Trip to Tamworth Snowdrome tobogganing.
