Mission Statement
To build up the body of Christ
To foster relationships in the local community
To reach out in love and service proclaiming the good news in word and deed
To bring people into a saving knowledge of the love of God through Jesus Christ our Lord

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To build up the Body of Christ
(To build up and strengthen the faith of God’s people)

To provide the resources for children, young people the not so young, and the old to grow in an understanding of the Christian faith through worship, prayer, teaching, bible study. To create an environment in which people are valued, affirmed and encouraged.

To acknowledge the worth of everybody as children of God and to bring them into a deeper awareness of God’s love.

To become people who make things happen, rather than waiting for others to take action.

To foster relationships in the local community
(To maintain, encourage and develop links with our local community)

The community encompasses our neighbours, friends and family, our schools and any local organisations we have contact with – Uniformed organisations, Youth Groups, Community Care, Old People’s Homes, Meals and Books on Wheels, evergreens, Playgroups etc.

To follow the pattern and example of Christ and to reflect His love as we go about our everyday lives.

To seek ways in which the Church and its members, both as individuals, and collectively, may contribute to the good of the community.

To reach out in love and service, proclaiming the good news in word and deed
(To meet the needs of others, in the name of Jesus)

We have an obligation to respond with love, and minister to the needs and requests of all people, the bereaved, the sick, the lonely, the homeless, the unemployed and anyone in trouble.

To offer friendship and kind words, to take time to listen to people in their ordinary lives.

As Christians, we need to be aware of, pray for and, when appropriate, speak out on issues that undermine the values of our society, environment and the world we live in.

To welcome people into our church fellowship.

To proclaim through our service to others, Christ’s love for all people.

To bring people into a saving knowledge of the love of God through Jesus Christ our Lord’
(To lead people towards, and into a personal relationship with a loving and forgiving God)

We are called to be caught up in God’s mission to the world and sent out like the first disciples.

We are called to act with conviction and commitment on opportunities that are presented to us, and to share our faith and belief in a Living God with all who ask.

Christ has no body now on earth but ours
Ours are the only hands with which He can do His work
Ours are the only feet with which He can go about the world
Ours are the only eyes through which His compassion can shine forth upon a troubled world
Christ has no body now on earth but ours
Teresa of Avila 1515-1582)
