MOTHERS' UNION
In 2005 the Mothers’ Union branch at St. Mary’s, East Leake celebrated 100 years existence. On Lady Day the other M.U. branches in the deanery came to us for an inspiring service and our Diocesan President, Mrs Sue Bank, presented long membership certificates.
At the June ‘Worship Together’ service, All-Stars and Brownies held up knitted teddies for children under stress, filled toilet bags for homeless people, and tinned groceries for families in need of a holiday in the M.U. caravan. The two playlets recalled the beginning of Mothers’ Union by Mary Sumner, and the start of our branch.
Based on prayer and service our branch continues to give Christian care of families world wide.
All meetings are open and visitors are very welcome.
