East Leake Medical group - Patients' Partnership (ELMPP)
The East Leake Medical group(ELMg) is proud to have the continued support of the East Leake Medical group Patients Partnership(ELMPP).
The partnership is designed to allow patients of the ELMg to have direct access to the planning and policy making process of ELMg.
The partnership will be patient organised and chaired but with active support and input from ELMg. The chairman of the group is Andy warren, who has has been one of the instigators for the establishment of lay/patient input at GP practice, and Primary Care Trust(NHS Nottinghamshire County) level.
As a patient led organisation ELMPP has issued an open invitation to all practice staff to attend the monthly meetings. Other health service providers(Primary Care Trust and Community staff together with Opticians, Pharmacists, Dentists etc.) will be invited to attend meetings as required.
The ELMPP activities will range from the organisation of patient surveys and the review of the results coupled with the review of the local results of the national quarterly patient experience consultation and help generates a plan of action to improve the patient experience, through to the review of proposed changes to services and any other ideas for improvement at ELMg.
ELMPP will NOT be a channel for individual complaints, complaints should be made to the practice manager or if required the PCT based PALS service can be contacted if required.
ELMPP will also act as the public face for both Principia, Partners in Health, the local Practice Based Commissioning cluster (www.principia.nhs.uk) allowing the public and patients to have direct input to the planning for new services and changes to the current provision of health and social services in the local area and and NHS Nottinghamshire County the Primary Care Trust covering Nottinghamshire outside Nottingham City and Bassetlaw.
These aims of active public/patient inclusion in health and social care are fully in line with current government and Department of Health policy and thinking. See http://www.dh.gov.uk for details of the various policy statements.
ELMPP is also part of the Principia / Rushcliffe Health Network, a loose alliance of patients and members of the public who have an interest in health matters of all kinds, More details are available at http://www.principia.nhs.uk.
If you have any questions or queries about ELMPP, in the first instance please contact Andy Warren via a note to the Health Centre or use the e-mail address elmpp@eastleake.net.
Action Required
The members of the Patients Partnership are very concerned about the state of the physical health centre structure, the building is well past its operational life and is not large enough to allow the practice to implement new and inovative services for its patients. Any further residential developments in the village will adversely effect the capability of the Health Centre to continue to provide a timely high quality health service to its patients.
The Partnership is therefore asking all patients to write to their councillors parish and borough and NHS Nottinghamshire County to voice their concerns over future health provision in the village in light of any further residential developments and the poor physical state of the building
