NINE SELECTED WALKS AROUND THE VILLAGE OF EAST LEAKE.

Walks around East Leake

This folded guide has a full colour A3 map on one side, together with colour photographs of some of the features to be seen on the walks. On the other side is a brief guide to each of the walks.

The majority of the walks are approximately 8 km (5 miles) long, several of them being circular. However, the longest – the East Leake Challenge Walk – is 28.5 km or nearly 18 miles long and sections of its route are in neighbouring parishes.

The guide/map results from a partnership between Nottinghamshire County Council and East Leake Parish Council - The Parish Paths Partnership (P3). They have worked together since 1996 to improve the Right of Way network. The County Council provided the funding, with support from the Countryside Agency, and the Parish provided the volunteers. There is a nominal charge of 50p for the map. All the proceeds are put back into the P3 scheme to either print more maps or maintain the rights of way.

The map can be purchased in East Leake from the Parish Office, the Library or the Post Office. It is also on sale in the main Public Libraries and Tourist Information Centres in Loughborough and Nottingham, also in the Public Libraries in the surrounding villages eg Ruddington, Keyworth, Gotham.
If you find any problems with the rights of way or the map itself and have solutions or suggestions to make, or wish to volunteer, please let us know through the Parish Office at 45 Main St., East Leake, LE12 6PF, Phone/Fax 01509 852217 or e-mail to parishclerk@east-leake.gov.uk

Happy Walking!!
