ST MARY'S WOMEN'S GROUP
We meet at 8.00 pm on the 3rd Monday of each month, except August, in St. Mary’s Hall.
Membership has increased marginally again this year, and new members and visitors are always very welcome.
We have had speakers on the topics of:
*Being a WW2 evacuee
*Children’s charity ‘When You Wish Upon a Star’
*The homeless and vulnerably housed charity, Framework
*We have had a Beetle Drive in November
*Christmas party (December)
*Entertained by 4 invited ‘castaways’ in our version of Desert Island Discs in January.
Still to come are:
On Monday, 20 September we shall have a return visit from David Berry, the headmaster and TV quiz specialist. His talk on this occasion is entitled ‘The Weakest Link’. The evening is open to everyone and we only charge £1.50, which includes coffee and biscuits. Do come along to St Mary’s Hall for 8pm start.
This meeting starts our new programme and future meetings include Desert Island Discs, Andy Warner from Principia, Dove Hospice and Hannahs of Quorn. Further information on our meetings is available from Sonia on 852720 or Sue on 820386.
