Burglaries
3 Burglaries reported
On the 14th a burglary occurred at a property on Twentylands Drive entry was made via forcing the rear ground floor patio windows.
On the 17th a burglary occurred at a property on Elm Avenue entry gained via insecure side kitchen door. Items taken.
On the 21st an attempted burglary occurred at a property on Sharpley Drive entry was attempted by forcing side door no entry gained.
On the 27th Harry Carlton School was broken into by means of forcing fire exit door in order to get gym mats to hang around on while on the school grounds- eight suspects were apprehended at the time and are currently on police bail for this offence pending further enquiries.
Other Crime
Over the past month there has been a spate of milk thefts of Bateman Road and other anti social activities, local officers have now manage to obtain names for the group responsible and will be dealing with them over the next few weeks – if anyone has any information they would like to pass to the police in relation to this please get in touch.
On the 1st criminal damage to a property on Woodgate occurred by means of a large object thrown at the glass door.
Over night on the 2nd criminal damage to a vehicle occurred while parked on the driveway of a property on Bateman Road by means of damage to paintwork by using a sharp instrument.
On the 14th the theft of a metal bed frame from the rear garden of a property on Saint Mary’s crescent occurred.
Over night on the 20th criminal damage to a vehicle occurred while parked on the driveway of a property on The Green by means of damage to a tyre.
On the 27th a theft from shop occurred at the Co-op the suspect of this was apprehended by staff and has been dealt with by police for this offence.
Good news two people have recently been arrested on suspicion of burglary for offences in West Leake and Normanton on Soar, they are believed to be responsible for other offences in the area which we hope to have them charged with in the near future, this will hopefully mean the burglary offences will reduce now we have them off the street.
Can I ask that you all be vigilant and report any suspicious incidents immediately to the control room or direct to myself if I am duty.
